The beautiful thing about a photograph is that it has the ability to say so much without saying a word. This is what I strive to do with my photography, to evoke some kind of emotion in my photo's. I just love the way a picture can capture a moment in time. The way it can tantilize your imagination with a simple expression or view point. I came to realize this a few years ago when I was strolling through the garden looking for something to "capture". I had passed this particular coneflower numerous times before, had taken countless pictures of it, and quite honestly was getting bored with it. So I decided to lay down on the ground and take the picture from underneath, and to my surprise I found a ladybug relaxing quietly under the shade created by the petals. It was fascinating to me because I realized that had I not been exploring through my camera lens, looking for a new perspective, I might never have known it was there. This is just one of the many reasons why photography is not just something I do, it is in my soul. What a gift to be able to stop and appreciate beauty, while others are hustling by and never seeing that beautiful ladybug underneath the flowers petal.

With that said, I feel very fortunate to be able to follow my passion and I look forward to exploring all the places that my lens will take me in the years ahead.
